Are y’all ready for this epic story? It features a failed setup attempt, a combine harvester, and a meant-to-be couple. Ironically, Kevin and Kinsi both grew up in the same small town in Nebraska, but since they didn’t go to school together, they never had a chance to meet. That all changed in the fall of 2018, when Kinsi decided that Kevin was a super eligible bachelor . . . for one of her best friends who had just moved to the area. Little did she know that she’d put a wrench in her own plan. Whether by fate or her clever scheming, Kinsi kept bumping into Kevin everywhere she went. The two ended up serendipitously spending a lot of time together. If you need some engagement photo ideas, Kinsi and Kevin’s session delivers!
Enter: The “Romantic” Combine Ride
Their story escalated when Kinsi’s friend, who had never been on a combine before, asked if she thought Kevin would give her a ride. Kevin was on board with their hilarious plan, but moments before the ride, Kinsi’s friend took off running across the field. Needless to say, Kinsi went on that combine ride with Kevin, and the rest is history. Nothing like a good ol’ combine ride to seal the deal.
While most couples can’t say they fell in love atop a tractor, it totally makes sense for Kinsi and Kevin. The two bonded over their agricultural backgrounds, both coming from farming and ranching families. In fact, their first “official” date was attending the Connealy Fall Bull Sale in Whitman, NE. They’ve since gone to the bull sale every year together, leading up to their engagement story.
Popping the Question
Last fall, Kevin planned to propose on their way either to or from Connealy’s, but each of their sisters ended up tagging along, unbeknownst to his plan! Then, on the way home, both sisters wanted to go out to eat, which delayed their arrival even more. Kinsi said she just remembers being so confused as to why Kevin was in such a rush to get home before dark. Long story short, he held tight to his plan (and the ring!) and managed to pop the question when they finally arrived home well after dark. He’s determined, sister! You got one of the good ones.
I just knew after hearing their story that Kinsi and Kevin’s engagement session would be a blast. They’re a go with the flow, very much in love couple. As a western wedding and engagement photographer, we were a perfect fit! I’m obsessed with how their sunset photos came out. The rolling hills and curious bovines made for the perfect backdrop for these Nebraska sweethearts. Cheers, friends!
